Custom Trade Partnership Against Terrorism Certification
C-TPAT seeks to safeguard the world’s vibrant trade industry from terrorists, maintaining the economic health of the United States and its neighbors. The partnership develops and adopts measures that add security but do not have a chilling effect on trade, a difficult balancing act.
C-TPAT was created in November 2001 with just seven major importers as members. As of June 2011 more than 10,000 certified partners spanning the gamut of the trade community have been accepted into the program.
Conecsus partnered with the Customs and Border Protection Agency and as of September 28, 2011 achieved C-TPAT certification. This certification ensures the security of the supply chain via operational practices and controls that minimize the exposure of the products being shipped across the borders from tampering or theft. This voluntary program was entered into by Conecsus to help protect our global supply chain and enhance our ability to service our customers.
