Conecsus Offers Dross, Metals Analysis Lab Services; Recover Profits, Product
Terrell, Texas, USA — Conecsus, LLC, an innovative metals recycling and recovery company, announces a broad range of laboratory testing and analysis services for SMT assemblers, EMS and electronics manufacturing companies. Conecsus processes wastes containing primarily Tin, Lead, Silver, Gold, and Copper, and converts them into usable metal products.
The laboratory at Conecsus offers a variety of analyses over a broad spectrum of material types. Routine analyses, for example, include Dross / Fines; Metals; Precious Metal Analysis for Silver or Gold, or Silver and Gold; and Full Precious Metal Analysis (Ag + Au + Pd + Pt). Non-routine analyses are also available.
In making the announcement, Pete Ruth, North American Business Manager, said, “Many electronics manufacturers today don’t realize, for example, that solder dross as it is generated and collected today is actually almost entirely recoverable. We’re working to change that perception through education, fair business practices, and an emphasis on transparency and forward-looking environmental technology investment, to put unexpected money back in the hands of metals waste generators. Our laboratory services help our customers understand the materials that they are generating, and how to best deal with them in terms of recovery of profits and regulatory compliance.”
The Conecsus laboratory facilities are equipped with skilled staff and state-of-the-art tools and technology. “Not only does this array of technology allow us to obtain results from a wide variety of incoming material, but we can also use the technologies in parallel to double- and triple-check our accuracy and precision,” he adds.
Equipment and technologies include a Spectro SpectroMaxX Stationary Spark Spectrometer used for metallic elements in solid samples. Software packages that specialize in Tin/Lead alloys are used to further refine the collected data. Another tool is Spectro Genesis Inductively Coupled Plasma for ICP Analysis, used for a wide array of elements in liquid samples; Fire Assay, used for precious metal determination; a Bruker AXS S4 Explorer X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer, used to analyze solid samples in powder or bulk form; and more. Other equipment includes a Niton XL2 Portable X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer, a Mettler-Toledo T50 Titrator with Rondo 20 Sample Changer, and a Claisse Peroxide Fluxer. Normal sample analysis turnaround is three working days.
